The Dignity for All Students Act

New York State’s Dignity for All Students Act (The Dignity Act) seeks to provide the State’s public elementary and secondary school students with a safe and supportive environment free from discrimination, intimidation, taunting, harassment, and bullying on school property, a school bus and/or at a school function. The Dignity Act was signed into law on September 13, 2010 and took effect on July 1, 2012. Amendments to the act are effective as of July 1, 2013 and are noted below under

This is the first three hours of six hour training in Harassment, Bullying, Cyberbullying, and Discrimination in Schools Prevention and Intervention

This three hour video-based course was developed with a media partner, CWK Networks, includes the following elements:

• Segment One: Introduction to Bullying
• Segment Two: Bullying, National Origin, Bias, Micro-aggression and the Impact on School Climate and Student Achievement and Behavior.
• Segment Three: Understanding Children Who Bully, Children Who Are Bullied and Bystanders and the Impact of Electronic Aggression
• Segment Four: Review of DASA and the Reporting Requirements

Each section includes a video component as well as a brief quiz, reflection questions and resources to review. Upon completing this three hour video-based training, you will receive a certificate. Proof of completion must be demonstrated before registering for the three hour in person training.
